"In
reading Jack’s book I felt like I was back in spiritual
boot camp. A hard-nosed and effective approach to spiritual
growth that is not a luxury, but rather a necessity, in these
troubled times. I would be honored to go into spiritual combat
with Jack any day. If you want to take your spiritual values
into the real world follow THIS leader and the advice he shares
with the intensity of a drill sergeant and the compassion of
a spiritual icon."

"You
could say that author Jack Schropp is the next "peaceful
warrior," albeit his book, UNBEATABLE, is unique and the
first of its kind. Surprisingly, while the author is a former
Navy SEAL Commander, his book speaks as much to women as it
does to men! It's an excellent book for my book club. I know
it will ignite lots of meaningful discussions.
The
author takes a hardnosed approach to spiritual growth - he's not
touchy, feely. He's a tough sort and brutally honesty about his own
failures and weaknesses. It is refreshing that the author DOES NOT
put himself on a pedestal for the readers to follow, worship or admire
like a lot of the self-help, self-proclaimed gurus. He's a human
being who has made a lot of mistakes like the rest of us. I found
that inviting.
While
most leadership or self-help books are motivational and offers advice,
this one is more "haunting" or "confronting." After
closing the book, I was left almost annoyed at the author, questioning
his ideas. I felt tormented until I saw something different in what
he was saying, which provided me with a whole new outlook about my
own life.
Among
his many points, Schropp says that there is nowhere to get to in
life. Life is happening right now, right now, right now. Like Navy
SEALs, we need to FULLY embrace that our lives are at stake in every
moment. "LIFE'S A FREAKIN' COMBAT ZONE," Jack says. So,
the only time we can participate in our lives IS right now. So, Schropp
offers the 12 secrets to being unbeatable which the reader can apply
to his/her life RIGHT NOW. We all possess these secrets, but at different
degrees. The idea is to distinguish what secrets are the weakest
within us and simply polish them so that we can be UNBEATABLE as
a matter of routine - within our careers, family or romantic relationships."

"Jack
Schropp was sure paying attention while he was taking in the
life lessons of BEING a SEAL.
Now the rest of the world can be lucky enough to learn from Jack’s insights
and experience."

"A beautiful
oxymoron ... SEAL for Peace? A fascinating book for men and women
that celebrates World Peace, and stresses the importance of taking
action in one’s life -- RIGHT NOW!"

"Unbeatable
speaks the truth. Even if you’re not ready to make the
commitment, read the book once to get the basic concept. Then,
when you hit rock bottom, start on page one."

"I particularly liked Jack's description of an "operator." I
met many guys in recon who fit that description and could get
ANYTHING done that needed to be done."

"Unbeatable is destined to be a classic. Never before
have I been given the opportunity to learn first-hand the 'secrets'
behind the extraordinary success of the Navy SEALs, and get the
blueprint on how to apply them to my own life. Recreating my
life as extraordinary began with opening this book."

"I had the opportunity to read this book and do the
exercises with my husband, and at a time when we were challenged
in our relationship. The book and exercises opened up conversations
about our marriage that we never would have had otherwise. Life-long
therapy can’t give people what they can get in Jack’s
book and in less than 200 pages. It’s the best investment
for any couple looking to have an extraordinary relationship."

"Hi Shari,
I've wanted to get in touch since our wonderful evening with you
and Jack at the King Street Holiday Inn. But I also wanted to wait
until I'd read the book and mulled it over. And sure enough, just
like your husband said, we are already unbeatable, and in my case,
I'd allowed events/people/circumstances to get in the way of that
fact.
Kim and I both mark that seminar as a turning point. We continue
to quote Jack at each other whenever we slip into our old whiny victim
roles. I've spent the past 13 years working on a mainstream novel,
a labor of love, with more rejections and rewrites than I can count.
Last winter, I finally secured the agent of my dreams who asked me
to do ONE more rewrite, the strengthening of one thread of the story
line. Around that time, my mother was diagnosed with Parkinsons,
and instead of launching with my usual grit into this last round
of work, I fell into a deep funk and couldn't write a word all winter.
Ironically, I continued to teach and try to inspire others, but then
I'd come home and just lie there like a dead fish. Then I saw the
ad for Jack's workshop, and we went . . . and you were there to remind
me of what I'd said to a fresh-faced young writer nearly 20 years
ago. I cannot tell you what that meant to me, followed by the one-two
punch of Jack's amazing presentation. Did the Universe hire you two,
or what?
Since then, I've just returned from a 10 day writing retreat in Algonquin,
where I wrote 17,000 words without even trying. The inspiration channel
is open again, and I'm smiling from the inside. I can look at those
13 years now not as failure (like, boy are you a loser!) but failing
my way toward success. I didn't quit, dammit. I still haven't.
I also wanted to share my other classroom memory of you. I remember
your bright eyes. They were eager, open, ready to learn and fully
experience whatever I had to offer. You still have those bright eyes.
And even though you didn't become a romance writer, you learned to
live romantically. My God, you get paid to drink wine, and you're
married to a SEAL! It doesn't get much more romantic than that.
So thank you, to both of you, from the bottom of my heart. I can
hardly wait for our paths to cross again."
