Effectiveness:
Jack's Track Record in Transforming Organizations
The
ability to create unprecedented success in an 'organizational culture'
dominated by resignation and stagnation.
While Jack Schropp was stationed in Washington, D.C., working as the project
manager for all UDT/SEAL/EOD diving related equipment, and in President Carter's
1970's declining defense budget, Jack and his two teammates increased the U.S.
Navy SEAL's budget by more than 2000%.
Ability
to dissect the components needed for a THRIVING AND WINNING team:
SEAL Team One, of which Jack was the Operations Officer (third in the chain
of Command), was the first SEAL team recognized with the Presidential Unit
Citation during Vietnam. Jack was one of thirteen members selected to represent
that Team and receive the award directly from President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Ability
to lead teams from failure to SUCCESS:
Jack Schropp led and improved the highly rigorous training and leadership
programs for the U.S. Navy Underwater Demolition Teams and SEAL teams. Under
Jack's command the reputation of U.S. Navy SEALs in Europe in 1970 went from
being dismal in the eyes of the most senior U.S. Military Commanders, to being
considered extremely effective and highly sought after by these same high ranking
officers, such that the SEALs were in demand for and then permanently stationed
in Europe to support the military operation.
Ability
to Increase Corporate PROFITABILITY:
Working for the largest, off campus educational company in the world, Jack
led courses for Magma Copper Company in Arizona. The end result of this initiative
was a transformation of the Magma 'culture', to such an extent that productivity
soared in every department. In one department, alone, profitability increased
by 300% in an area where the employees 'KNEW' that any increase was IMPOSSIBLE.
This initiative contributed largely to Magma Copper's stock tripling in price
in a two year period.
